In the other direction you will find the largest square in Europe. There you can admire different great sculptures : The Girondists monument, triumph of the Republic, triumph of the Concorde, the Tribune with the French cockerel and the Éloquence. The name : La Place Des Quinconces comes from the way that the trees were planted in 1818, in quincunx (which means staggered rows).
